Intel's Crescent Island leak points to LPDDR5X as an HBM workaround

Tom's Hardware reports that images circulating online appear to show the PCB for Intel's Crescent Island AI GPU, with a single-GPU layout and pads for 20 LPDDR5X memory modules. The report frames the design as a lower-cost alternative to HBM-based accelerators at a time when HBM availability remains tight. For RamTrend, the signal is important because it shows accelerator vendors may use high-capacity LPDDR5X configurations when HBM supply, cost or design complexity becomes a constraint. That would not replace HBM in the highest-bandwidth AI training systems, but it could broaden memory demand in inference or lower-power AI accelerator designs.
