SNIA forms MRAM Alliance SIG to broaden emerging memory adoption

EE Times Asia reports that the Storage Networking Industry Association has formed the MRAM Alliance Special Interest Group. The group aims to expand MRAM adoption by bringing together stakeholders across the semiconductor value chain. The report says STT-MRAM is already established at major foundries including TSMC, Samsung, UMC, and GlobalFoundries, while applications include automotive MCU platforms and space-bound systems. For RamTrend, this is an emerging-memory ecosystem signal rather than a near-term DRAM or NAND pricing event. MRAM remains important to track because better standardization, testing, and ecosystem coordination can support adoption in embedded and specialty memory applications. The practical impact on mainstream RAM pricing is limited for now.
