YMTC is preparing to begin volume production of LPDDR5X memory rated at 9,600 MT/s at Fab 3, according to a report by TechPowerUp citing Counterpoint Research. The report says YMTC has also produced about 5,000 wafers per month of 16Gb LPDDR5X rated at 7,500 MT/s at Fab 2 since October 2025. The planned product uses a vertical-channel-transistor 4F2 cell design. YMTC is better known for NAND, and this development would broaden its memory manufacturing activity; no start date or output target for Fab 3 is stated.
