TechPowerUp's account of Valve's September 2026 Steam Hardware Survey reports that 42.22% of participating systems had 32 GB of RAM, compared with 37.82% at 16 GB. The previous month's figures were 37.45% and 41.20%, respectively. The survey is voluntary, and the source notes a substantial change in its language mix; a single monthly shift should not be read as a definitive change across all PC users. The survey tracks capacity, not memory type or speed, so it cannot show whether respondents use DDR4 or DDR5.
