Montage Technology says mass production has begun for its RCD05 register clock driver for DDR5 RDIMMs. The company lists support for data rates up to 8,000 MT/s, about 11% above the preceding RCD04 generation. It says the chip includes clock-driving and equalization features intended to maintain signal quality at higher speeds. The component is designed for server memory modules used in data centers and AI systems. The announcement concerns a memory interface chip; it does not state the number of units produced or how much server DRAM capacity will be added.
