Rambus's Ask the Experts feature outlines a chipset architecture for DDR5 server RDIMMs operating at data rates up to 9,600 MT/s. It identifies the RCD06 clock driver, SPD Hub, temperature sensors and on-module power management as parts of the system. The RCD buffers and distributes command, address and clock signals, while the other components handle configuration, thermal reporting and voltage regulation. Rambus presents the design as a response to tighter signal and timing requirements at higher memory speeds. The feature explains an architecture; it does not announce module shipments or a change in server DRAM supply.
