The global memory market could see a substantially smaller supply-demand gap in 2027, according to Beijing-based Sigmaintell Consulting. DigiTimes Daily reports that the forecast follows months of tight supply and rapid price increases during 2026. Sigmaintell expects more DRAM capacity and changing demand patterns to improve the balance next year. The consultancy nevertheless sees growth continuing through 2028 before warning that evolving AI application demand could contribute to a market pullback in 2029. The forecast differs from other industry reports that emphasize allocation reductions and long-term capacity commitments. It should therefore be treated as one analytical view of a market with unusually high uncertainty, rather than as confirmation that current shortages will end on a fixed schedule.
