Module makers report deeper DRAM allocation cuts for 2027

Team Group says upstream memory suppliers have warned module makers of sharply reduced DRAM allocations in 2027 as long-term agreements consume capacity through 2028.

DRAM supply conditions could tighten further in 2027 as memory suppliers sign more long-term agreements, according to DigiTimes Daily. The report cites Team Group general manager Gerry Chen, who said module makers have received notices warning of substantially lower shipment allocations. The same report says upstream producers have reportedly committed nearly all of their capacity for 2027 and 2028. If confirmed, that would leave module makers competing for a smaller pool of unallocated supply and widen the gap between demand and available components. The outlook is based on industry notices and reported capacity commitments rather than published supplier forecasts. It is nevertheless a strong signal that current pricing pressure may extend beyond the near term, particularly for buyers without long-term supply contracts.
