Solidigm Dalian plan points to 2027 mature NAND relief

Reported spending at Solidigm's second Dalian NAND line could add future mature-node output while SK hynix keeps advanced memory investment centered in South Korea.

SK hynix and Solidigm appear to be separating near-term NAND priorities by geography and node maturity. StorageReview, citing Korean press coverage, says Solidigm has restarted investment activity at Dalian Fab 2 in China after a pause of about four years. The reported schedule would bring tools to the site from late 2026 and target output in the first half of 2027. At full scale, the second line could contribute roughly 50,000 wafer starts per month, adding to Dalian Fab 1's roughly 100,000 monthly wafers. For the memory market, the timing and product mix matter more than the headline capacity number. The Dalian expansion is framed around mature NAND and mainstream enterprise flash, while SK hynix continues to direct major domestic spending toward more advanced memory. That makes this a potential 2027 supply-relief signal for some enterprise SSD categories, not an immediate fix for today's tight SSD environment or a new source of leading-edge NAND output.
