Silicon Motion Technology Corporation priced an upsized private convertible note offering with $1.0 billion in aggregate principal amount of 0.00% notes due 2031. The company said the deal was increased from $800 million and is expected to settle on August 13, 2026, if customary closing conditions are met. Initial purchasers also received a 13-day option to purchase as much as $150 million more in principal amount. The RamTrend read-through is indirect. Silicon Motion is an important supplier of NAND flash and SSD controller technology, so a larger financing package can matter for balance-sheet flexibility and competitive positioning across the storage controller supply chain. However, the release does not cite SSD shipments, NAND inventories, controller order trends, or memory pricing, so it should not be treated as a near-term NAND price catalyst by itself.
