Silicon Motion introduced the MonTitan SSD reference design kit at FMS 2026. The platform is built around the company's PerformaShape technology and is designed for AI infrastructure where agents continuously store context, access tools, and generate changing data patterns. The compact payload says MonTitan enables enterprise SSDs to act as a persistent memory layer for KV-cache offload, with a focus on predictable service quality, sustained performance, and endurance. For NAND demand, this is another signal that AI inference is creating new workloads for enterprise SSD controllers, not just GPUs and HBM. If adopted, these designs could lift demand for higher-end NAND devices and controllers tuned for latency and write-heavy behavior.
