SanDisk Starts Sampling BiCS10 3D NAND

TechPowerUp reports that SanDisk has begun sampling its BiCS10 1 Tb TLC 3D NAND. The reported generation raises bit density versus currently shipping BiCS8-era flash and increases interface speed to 4.8 Gb/s, while also improving input and output power efficiency. For RamTrend, the near-term effect is limited because sampling is not the same as broad volume supply. The market signal is still important: leading NAND vendors are preparing higher-density flash for future SSD designs, with data-center and high-capacity storage needs continuing to push density and power improvements.
