The EE Times Asia payload says consumer DRAM buyers are moving down the technology stack as supply gets harder to secure. TrendForce expects DDR2 contract prices to rise about 55% to 60% in the second quarter of 2026, followed by another 35% to 40% increase in the third quarter. For RamTrend, this is a direct and important memory-pricing signal. AI infrastructure demand is pulling major suppliers toward HBM and server DRAM, reducing support for mature-node products. That pressure is now pushing some OEM and ODM designs from DDR4 toward DDR3, and in some cases from DDR3 toward DDR2, while Taiwanese suppliers such as Nanya and Winbond gain more pricing leverage.
