Intel's Raptor Lake Refresh Plans Point to DDR4 SODIMM Inventory Overhang

Intel's reported client-platform plan has a memory-channel angle. TechPowerUp says a new Raptor Lake refresh is expected to reach gaming notebook HX systems, with DDR4 compatibility framed as a way for buyers to reduce memory costs and for the ecosystem to work through DDR4 SODIMM inventory. For RamTrend, this points to a split memory market. Older DDR4 notebook memory still appears to need demand support, while newer platforms continue shifting toward later memory standards. If OEMs use refreshed Intel systems to consume DDR4 SODIMM stock, that may help clear inventory without necessarily changing the stronger pricing tone in other DRAM segments.
