Samsung Targets 1d DRAM Tool Install in 2027 as Next Node Plan Moves Forward

Samsung Electronics is reportedly working with multiple partners on production equipment for its seventh-generation 10nm-class, or 1d, DRAM process, according to DIGITIMES. The report says the company is aiming to start tool installation as early as the second quarter of 2027 and reach initial volume production by the end of that year. For the memory market, this is primarily a roadmap signal rather than an immediate supply event. Still, progress at a major DRAM producer can influence expectations around future bit output, manufacturing efficiency, and competitive pressure across the DRAM sector.
